What is pace of aging?
TruAge PACE is a biological pace of aging test that focuses on short-term changes in methylation that translate into long-term impacts to health. It acts like a speedometer for aging, where values above 1 are ‘accelerated aging’ and below 1 are ‘slowed aging.’
The primary algorithm offered in PACE is the Dunedin Pace of Aging algorithm (DunedinPACE) – developed over 50 years and trained on longitudinal phenotypic data. Dr. Eileen Crimmons in USC evaluated DunedinPACE, and found it was the most predicative age-related biomarker for health consequences.
Short term testing
Because of the high precision, and significance of small changes, you can retest frequently. Watch your rate of aging change in response to lifestyle changes, and figure out what changes work best for you.
We recommend 3 months between tests.

– We perform all epigenetic testing at our partner lab in Lexington, KY.
– First, register your kit.
– Then, provide a blood sample into the vial by following the included instructions.
– Mail your sample back to us using the prepaid envelope included in every kit.
– Our partner lab will email you when they receive your kit. Once it is received, 2-3 weeks later you will receive your email letting you know your reports are available via your portal.
– In order to register your kit, you will need to create a new account on our partner laboratory website. Keep in mind that an account is not automatically created when an order is placed.
– We need about 3-5 drops of blood – there are two lines of the vial, and the level of blood should sit somewhere between those two lines.
– There is a biohazard bag and prepaid return mailer included inside the kit.
– Seal your sample tube in the biohazard bag, then place the bag with your sample into the prepaid envelope.
– You can drop it off at any UPS location, or in your own mailbox! The envelope is already pre-addressed and prepaid.
– The blood collection kit includes an anticoagulant that is added to your blood immediately after you finish providing your sample.
– The DNA extracted from your sample is stable at a wide range of temperatures (4 ºC to – 196 ºC).
– Unused kits also remain stable even if exposed to temperatures in this range during transit or storage.
– Your sample will not be processed until registration is complete. When your unregistered sample is received at the lab, an email titled “Action Required” will be sent to the email address provided when the order was placed. This email will contain your sample’s barcode, which you can use to register online. In order to register, you will need to create a new account on our partner’s Laboratory website. Remember that an account of our partner laboratory is not automatically created when an order is placed.
